General Session Keynote Speaker: Kevin Jennings

Meet Kevin Jennings, CEO of Be the Change, a nonprofit organization that creates national issue based campaigns on pressing problems in American society. He is also the former Assistant Deputy Secretary of Education, before which he served as the founder of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a national education organization bringing together lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and straight teachers, parents, students, and community members who want to end anti-LGBT bias. Kevin is a dynamic speaker and understands the power that camps have to impact their own communities and the world around them. Kevin will challenge us to examine how camps relate to the LGBT members of our communities and show us how easy it is to make a difference.

General Session Keynote Speaker: Rosalind Wiseman

Rosalind Wiseman's keynote will offer an integration of research by Carol Gilligan, Mary Pipher, and national studies about the social hierarchy of girls with hands-on training about how to get through to the girls we are trying to help. Known for her outstanding ability to integrate academic concepts with a "hip", humorous, & personal style, she will guide you through the nuts & bolts of the complex world of 21st century girls. Wiseman is an internationally recognized author and educator on children, teens, parenting, bulling, social justice and ethical leadership. She is the New York Times bestselling author of Queen Bees & Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and the New Realities of Girl World, the basis for the movie Mean Girls. Wiseman writes a monthly column for Family Circle and is a frequent guest on the Today Show. She has been profiled in The New York Times, People, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, USA Today, Oprah,CNN, Good Morning America, and National Public Radio affiliates throughout the country.
