Jon Simons

Vice President, Resource Development - Donor by Design

 

In his role as Vice President of Resource Development, Jon takes a prescriptive approach to client engagement. Through a comprehensive assessment of strengths and areas for growth, Jon works with clients to maximize current resources and establish clear and measurable goals for future success.

Prior to joining Donor By Design, Jon served over 18 years as both Development Officer and Executive Director in the YMCA.  Jon has managed and grown annual fundraising campaigns in diverse communities from suburban New Englandto major metropolitan cities including Bostonand New York City.

In the area of community development, Jon has provided consultation to a wide variety of organizations and institutions including public schools, community health centers, inter-faith and anti-drug coalitions, SADD, The Search Institute, and the United Way.  Specializing in training, team-building, staff and volunteer development, motivation and community development, Jon brings many years of operations and community development experience to the fund development arena.  Jon is a highly skilled presenter with a gift of humor, motivation and clarity.

Jon, a YMCA Senior Director, holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Human Services Administration from SpringfieldCollegeand has served as a professional development faculty trainer for the YMCA of the USA for over 13 years.

Jon and his family live on the New Jerseycoast and enjoy their time in the great outdoors hiking, cycling and sea kayaking.
