Associate Visitor Course: Hidden Valley, Fresh Air Fund Camp, Fishkill, NY

ACA's Associate Visitor course helps participants identify the purpose and structure of ACA's accreditation programs and understand the steps of the process at the camp, section, and national levels. Participants become familiar with the legal implications of visitor actions, as well as develop skills in gathering information, making compliance decisions, and consistently applying the standards in a variety of situations. This course stresses the awareness and acceptance of the intent of the standards to represent accepted practices of organized camping.

Prerequisite: Participants must be at least twenty-one years of age, a current ACA member, and completion of a Standards Course. Participants will also need to complete some online pre-course assignments.

State of the Garden State

The State of the Garden State will be held at Camp Kiddie Keep Well at 35 Roosevelt Drive, Edison NJ. 

Speakers will include  NJ Licensed Health Officer, Claudine Loene, ACA-NJ Lobbyist, and Department of Children and Families Official. 

 

ACA Memeber/ACA Camp fee: $25 per person or $20 per person for 3 or more participants from the same ACA Camp

Non-ACA member Camp fee: $40 per person

Teen LEADership Conference

ACA-NY/NJ is excited to announce the Teen Leadership Conference on April 26th, at Bank Street College of Education on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.  This one-day event brings together camp leaders that range in grade from Freshman to Junior year of High School.   LEAD has been designed to educate teen leaders on leadership, communication and professionalism as it relates to camp and also how these skills transfer to the “real world”.   This conference will feature keynote speaker, Scott Arizala, informative breakout sessions, led by camp professionals, and fun with other teen leaders!

Nonprofit Conference

Join us at the ACA Not-For-Profit Camp Conference to meet and collaborate with other non-profit camp professionals.  The NFP Conference gives you the opportunity to connect with your NFP colleagues to discuss ideas, debrief experiences from the summer and to find comradery with other camp professionals that are engaged in similar work. 

The NFP Conference will be held at Project Morry , 350 Executive Blvd, Suite 125in Elmsford, NY and begins at 10am on October 15, 2015.  A light breakfast and lunch with refreshments will be served. The conference concludes at 4pm, followed by fun, networking and libations. Price for ACA members- $20,  Price for Non ACA members- $25
