Consulting Services
ACA, NY & NJ provides expertise and professional consulting to summer camps looking to develop and enhance their program. Our team of experienced camp professionals can focus on the program, facility, budget, as well as staff training and leadership structure. Consulting services are available to nonprofit and private camps, and can benefit day or resident camp programs. ACA, NY & NJ evaluates a camp’s current practices and offers feedback, recommendations, and specific strategies for improving. Onsite Trainings
If you have 20 or more staff members, our team of facilitators can come to your camp and provide staff training for your whole site. We customize each training session based on your needs including age and experience of staff, issues from previous summers, and new initiatives you would like to implement. Topics can include Behavior Management, Bully Prevention, Creating Camp Culture, Appropriate Conversations, Thematic Planning, and many more. Training Topics
Here is a list of ACA, NY and NJ workshops. Our consultants will work one-on-one with you to design the right trainings for your needs. You can choose a full day training, which is six and a half hours and can include up to four topics. Or, you can choose a half day training, which is three hours and can include two topics. Whatever your needs are, we will customize the training content for your camp or after-school program.

Group Dynamics
This session is designed to show you how to implement games which will make every child feel comfortable each step of the way. You will be lead on a journey from the beginning days of after school where its all about getting to know each other, then through the thick of it where maintaining a positive group dynamic is your key to success, and end up at trust, mutual respect, and belonging.

Good Supervision
In order for kids to grow and develop they must first be in an environment where they feel safe, welcomed, and know that they belong. This workshop explores ways to create an environment where children are physically and emotionally safe.

Girls Behavior
Gossiping, cliques, and spreading false rumors are commonplace at many camps. Girls have truly mastered the art of these behaviors which can rear their ugly head in your summer program. Join us as we discuss ways of making your program more open and honest, strategies for being proactive with girls, and various ways of approaching the issue head on.

Thematic Planning 101
Explore creative ways to incorporate fun, educational activities from all content areas into theme days, weeks, or months. Topics may include Egyptians, Oceans, Native Americans, Friendships, Going Green, and many more.
